Ferness lies in the Scottish Highlands between Nairn and Grantown-on-Spey, accessible via the A939 from either the A96 coastal route or through Grantown from the A9. The settlement serves as a waypoint for travellers heading between the Moray coast and Cairngorms National Park, with about 11 EV charging points scattered across the surrounding area. Nearby Cawdor Castle, just 15 kilometres away, remains one of Scotland's finest medieval fortresses with its famous Shakespearean connections.
