Fanore

united kingdom

united kingdom

Fanore sits where the Burren's limestone terraces drop into Galway Bay, making it a grand base for exploring both the ancient stone landscape and the Atlantic coast. The village connects via the scenic R477 coastal road, about 70 kilometers north of Galway city and 45 minutes from Ennis along the R476. Most visitors come up from Galway following the N67 through Kinvara and Ballyvaughan. The beach runs for nearly two kilometers of golden sand with massive dunes behind it, some of the finest on the west coast. There's good EV charging in nearby Ballyvaughan and Doolin if you're driving electric.
