Elphin lies in Sutherland's remote northwestern Highlands, positioned along the A835 North Coast 500 route between Ullapool (30km) and the A837 junction at Ledmore. The single-carriageway roads wind through dramatic Highland scenery, with Inverness roughly 90km southeast via challenging mountain passes. One fast charger serves electric vehicles in this sparsely populated region. The village sits beneath Suilven, the distinctive castle-like peak visible for miles across the surrounding moorland.
