Eil lies in Strathspey within the Cairngorms, accessed via the A95 which runs through the valley connecting Aviemore and Grantown-on-Spey. Most visitors approach from the A9 at Aviemore, about 15km southwest, whilst local routes link to Carrbridge just 6km away. The area has roughly 15 EV charging points nearby, concentrated in Aviemore and Carrbridge. The local roads here still trace the ancient drove routes once used for moving Highland cattle to southern markets.
