East Down is a small North Devon village on the A39 Atlantic Highway between Barnstaple and the Exmoor coast. The A361 provides motorway connections whilst local lanes link neighbouring villages like Clifton and Arlington. With roughly 40 public EV chargers nearby and Royal Marines Base Chivenor close by, it's well-positioned for exploring both moorland and coast. The parish church contains a rare surviving medieval rood screen with original painted fragments.
