Eals is a remote Northumberland village near the Scottish border, accessed via the A689 and A69 trunk roads through Haltwhistle or Brampton. The surrounding countryside features typical Border hill farming landscape with stone walls and scattered settlements like nearby Slaggyford and Knarsdale. St. Cuthbert's church houses a unique 12th-century carved stone showing a local saint's miracle.
