Durrow is a small County Offaly town positioned along the N52 between Tullamore and Birr, just over the Laois border in Ireland's midlands. Most visitors arrive via the M7 at Junction 23 near Roscrea, then follow the R445 north for about 15 kilometres. The drive from Dublin takes roughly 90 minutes covering 120 kilometres. The town sits amid typical midlands farmland with gentle hills and scattered woodlands. Electric vehicle drivers will find fast charging stations in nearby Tullamore and Birr. Durrow's claim to fame is the ruins of Durrow Abbey, founded by Saint Columba in the 6th century and original home to the Book of Durrow manuscript, now kept at Trinity College Dublin.
