Durisdeermill is a small village in Dumfries and Galloway, positioned along the A702 just north of Thornhill. The A702 provides the main route between Edinburgh and Dumfries, running through scenic hill country typical of the Southern Uplands. Most visitors arrive via the M74 to Junction 14, then follow the A702 south through Elvanfoot, or approach from Edinburgh via Biggar. The village retains its old mill wheel beside the burn that once powered the local flour mill.
