Durisdeer is a small village in the Lowther Hills reached via the A702, about 10km north of Thornhill. The scenic route from Glasgow takes you through Abington and over moorland terrain. The village sits in typical Southern Uplands countryside and is notable for its parish church, which houses an elaborate 18th-century marble monument to the Duke of Queensberry.
