Dunure is a clifftop fishing village on the Ayrshire coast, reached via the scenic A719 from Maybole or directly from Ayr in 15 minutes. The dramatic ruins of Dunure Castle perch above the harbour, where Mary Queen of Scots once stayed and the notorious roasting of the Abbot of Crossraguel occurred in 1570.
