Droichead Nua sits 50 kilometres southwest of Dublin on the M7 motorway, making it a handy base for exploring County Kildare or heading further afield to Cork and Limerick. The town grew around 19th-century military barracks and sits on the edge of the famous Curragh plains, Ireland's premier horse training country. You'll find excellent rail links to Dublin and over 60 EV charging points scattered about. The town's claim to fame is Newbridge Silverware, founded in 1934, whose visitor center houses a fascinating collection of celebrity memorabilia alongside their famous jewelry.
