Downinney lies in northeast Cornwall's quiet farming country, connected by narrow lanes to the A395 between Launceston and Bude. Most visitors arrive via Launceston, 15km southeast, whilst longer journeys use the A30 through Launceston or A39 via Bude. Electric vehicle charging is available in surrounding market towns. The village church boasts a remarkable Norman doorway with 800-year-old carved stonework.
