Downholme is a small Yorkshire Dales village overlooking Swaledale, reached via the B6270 from Richmond (8km) or connecting to the A6108 toward Leyburn. The 12th-century St. Michael's Church features a remarkable Norman tympanum with geometric carvings above its south door.
