Dowland is a small Devon village accessible via the A386 between Plymouth and Bideford, about 45km from Exeter. Local lanes connect it to neighbouring Iddesleigh and Dolton within 2km, whilst Okehampton lies 15km south for main services. The area enjoys typical Devon countryside with mild, wet weather year-round supporting lush pastures. St. Pancras Church houses an exceptional 13th-century painted rood screen, amongst Devon's finest medieval examples.
