Dovenby is a small Cumbrian village between Cockermouth and the coast, reached via the A594 from either direction. The A66 from Penrith connects through Cockermouth, whilst the coastal A595 is accessible via local roads. About 18 fast EV chargers serve the area around Cockermouth and the nearby A595.
