Doune lies in central Scotland's Forth Valley, about 8 miles northwest of Stirling on the A84. This historic market town serves as a gateway to the Trossachs, easily reached from Glasgow via the M80 (45 minutes) or Edinburgh through Stirling on the M9 (one hour). The 14th-century castle famously appeared as Winterfell in Game of Thrones.
