Dottery lies in West Dorset countryside, a kilometre from Bridport and close to the Jurassic Coast. The A35 provides the main access, connecting to the A3066 for Bridport, with the B3162 offering a prettier route through local villages. About 30 EV charging points serve the area, mostly in nearby Bridport. The surrounding landscape still shows the long, narrow "rope walks" where Bridport's famous rope-making industry operated for centuries.
