Doonaha perches on County Clare's Loop Head Peninsula where the Shannon Estuary meets the Atlantic, creating some fierce seascapes. You'll reach it via the R487 from Kilkee through Carrigaholt, about 20 kilometres from Kilrush or 60 from Ennis on the N67. The area draws golfers to Ballybunion and Doonbeg's championship courses, while families head for Kilkee's beaches. The village sits right beneath the famous Bridges of Ross, those massive natural rock arches that the Atlantic has been carving for centuries.
