Donaghadee

united kingdom

Donaghadee sits on the eastern tip of the Ards Peninsula, a coastal town of 7,300 with grand views of the Copeland Islands and Scotland's coast just 34 kilometres across the North Channel. Most folk arrive via the A2 from Belfast, a lovely 32-kilometre coastal drive through Holywood and Bangor, while the town's only 9 kilometres from Bangor itself. The painted lighthouse from 1836 watches over the working harbour, and you'll find Grace Neill's Bar, which has been pulling pints since 1611 and claims to be Ireland's oldest pub still going strong.
