Dockray is a small Lake District village positioned between Ullswater and the northern fells, accessible via the A5091 from the A66. The area attracts walkers heading for the eastern fells and tourists bound for Ullswater's shores at nearby Glenridding and Patterdale. The village retains a working red telephone box, a rare sight in modern rural Britain.
