Doccombe lies in Devon's countryside between Moretonhampstead and the eastern fringes of Dartmoor. Access is via the A382 from Exeter (20km) or across the moor on the B3212. Most visitors are exploring Dartmoor or making local trips to nearby villages like Westcott and Dunsford. Wild ponies sometimes stray into the village lanes from the nearby moor.
