Disley lies on the A6 between Stockport and Buxton, serving as a gateway to the Peak District. The village connects Manchester via a 20-kilometre route through Stockport, whilst the B5470 links to High Lane. Manchester Airport is 25 kilometres northwest. The Victorian railway station on the Manchester-Buxton line remains in active use with its original station building intact.
