Davy Lamp is a County Durham settlement near Kelloe, about 8km southeast of Durham city via the A177. The A181 provides north-south connections toward Sunderland, whilst the A1(M) lies 10km west for longer journeys to Newcastle or Yorkshire. Named after Sir Humphry Davy's mining safety lamp, the area reflects Durham's coal heritage with reclaimed colliery sites now forming part of the green countryside around historic Elemore Hall.
