Dartmouth sits where the River Dart meets the sea in South Devon, accessible via the A3122 from the A381. Long-distance visitors use the A38 and A385 through Totnes, whilst local traffic arrives on the A379 from Brixham or via the scenic Kingswear ferry. The town's narrow medieval streets can be tricky for parking. The imposing Royal Naval College has trained naval officers from its hilltop perch since 1905.
