Darnick lies in the Scottish Borders, a stone's throw from Melrose along the River Tweed. Reach it via the A6091 from Melrose or the A68 from Edinburgh (60km) or Newcastle (80km). The village boasts a remarkably intact 16th-century tower house, one of the finest examples of Border reiver defensive architecture still standing.
