Dalswinton lies along the A76 between Dumfries and Kilmarnock, about 8km north of Dumfries town centre. Most visitors arrive via the M74 and A701 through Moffat, or directly up the A76 from Dumfries. This small Galloway village sits in gentle farming country beside the River Nith, with roughly 20 EV charging points available in the area. Dalswinton Loch hosted the world's first successful steamboat trial in 1788.
