Culcabock forms part of Inverness's eastern suburbs, easily reached via the A96 Aberdeen road. The A9 brings longer-distance traffic from the south, whilst local routes connect to Raigmore and the city centre three kilometres west. Over 30 EV charging points serve the area, and Inverness Airport sits nearby. The name derives from Gaelic "Cùl na Bòige," meaning "back of the bog," referencing the marshy terrain that preceded modern housing development.
