Croachy lies in the Scottish Highlands between the Great Glen and the Monadhliath Mountains, about 20 kilometres from Inverness via the A9 and B851. The area connects several small Highland communities, with West Croachy, Aberarder, and Brin all within a few kilometres on local roads. The name derives from the Gaelic "cruaich," meaning "stack" or "heap," referring to a prominent hill that once marked this Highland location.
