Crettyard is a quiet market town in County Laois, just off the R426 between Portlaoise and Carlow. It's handy for getting about, with the M7 motorway roughly 80 kilometers from Dublin connecting through to local roads. The R448 heads east toward Carlow town if you need shops or facilities like the golf club at Deerpark. There's decent charging infrastructure for electric cars, with over 20 fast chargers nearby. The old courthouse still stands in the center, a proper reminder of when Crettyard served as the administrative hub for the surrounding countryside.
