Cranberry lies in rural Staffordshire, reached via the A519 which connects to the M6 about 10 miles east. Most traffic uses this route between Eccleshall and Newport, whilst the nearby A34 offers alternative access through Stone. With approximately 90 fast chargers in the surrounding area, it's well-served for electric vehicles. The village's name derives from historical cranberry bogs that once operated in the local wetlands.
