Cornafulla perches on Lough Ree's eastern shore in County Roscommon, just 8 kilometres north of Athlone via the N61. This quiet lakeside spot draws day-trippers from across the midlands, particularly golfers heading to the championship courses at Athlone and Glasson. Glasson Golf Club, designed by Christy O'Connor Jr., runs right along the lough's edge with several holes playing directly over the water. The R362 offers a lovely alternative route through proper farming country, while electric car drivers will find plenty of fast chargers in nearby Athlone.
