Cootehall is a small County Roscommon town on Lough Key's shores, easily reached via the N4 Dublin-Sligo route. It's just 8km south of Boyle and 15km northwest of Carrick-on-Shannon, making it a handy stop for drivers heading between Dublin (two hours) and Galway (one hour). The area has about a dozen EV fast chargers scattered around. The big draw here is The Shed Distillery, where they make Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin in a converted Victorian jam factory from the 1800s.
