Consall lies in the Churnet Valley northeast of Stoke-on-Trent, reached via the A52 and country lanes through former mining country. Long-distance visitors use M6 Junction 16, whilst locals know the scenic route through Wetleyrocks. The village sits on the preserved Churnet Valley Railway, where steam trains still whistle through the valley at weekends.
