Coniston

England

England

Coniston lies in the southern Lake District beside its namesake lake, with the Old Man of Coniston's distinctive peak looming overhead. The A593 provides the main access from Ambleside or via the A590 from the M6, whilst the scenic route through Hawkshead connects to Windermere. Donald Campbell's water speed record attempts made Coniston Water famous, and his restored Bluebird K7 is now exhibited at the village's Ruskin Museum.
