Compton Valence

Compton Valence is a small Dorset village tucked into the countryside northwest of Dorchester. Reach it via the A35 from Dorchester, then minor roads through the valley, or approach from the north using the A37 from Yeovil. The village makes an excellent base for exploring the network of narrow lanes connecting Dorset's hidden settlements, with about 40 EV charging points available in the wider area. The parish church houses a rare 15th-century stone pulpit, one of only a few medieval examples surviving in the county.
