Compton Martin is a small North Somerset village in the Chew Valley, about 15 miles southwest of Bristol. Reached via the A368 from Bristol or the A38 from the south, it's well-positioned for exploring the Mendips whilst remaining accessible to Bristol Airport, 12 miles away. The 13th-century church of St Michael houses one of Somerset's few surviving medieval stone rood screens.
