Cold Cotes
England
Cold Cotes lies between Ingleton and High Bentham in the Yorkshire Dales, accessed via the A65 or from the M6 at Junction 36. Most visitors arrive on longer routes from Yorkshire cities or the Lake District to explore the Three Peaks walking area. The settlement's name derives from Old Norse "kot" meaning shelter, and the traditional dry stone walls here have divided the upland pastures for over three centuries.
