Cockenzie sits on East Lothian's coast, 20 miles east of Edinburgh via the A1 and A198. This former fishing port faces the Firth of Forth, with the main coast road running straight through the village center. Electric vehicle drivers have access to over 150 fast charging points nearby, particularly along the A1 corridor. The village was once dominated by the red brick towers of Cockenzie Power Station, whose twin chimneys served as local landmarks until their demolition in 2020.
