Coachford is a handy spot in County Cork, about 25 kilometers west of Cork city where several country roads meet along the River Lee valley. The R618 from Cork city is the main route in, while the R579 connects north to Blarney. Long-distance drivers often come via the N22 Cork-Killarney road, turning north at Macroom through the Derrynasaggart Mountains. There's decent electric vehicle charging with about 10 fast chargers in the area. The town's heart is a lovely stone bridge from the 1760s that still carries traffic across the Lee, connecting the main street to the residential side.
