Cleator is a small West Cumbrian village nestled between Egremont and Cleator Moor, reached via the coastal A595 or country roads from the central Lakes. Once an iron ore mining centre, it sits in gently rolling hills with a mild maritime climate. The village boasts St. Leonard's Church, which features a remarkable 12th-century Norman doorway with intricate zigzag stonework.
