Chopwell

England

England

Chopwell, a former mining village in County Durham, sits conveniently off the A694 between Gateshead and Consett. The village is easily reached from Newcastle in 20 minutes or from the A1 via well-signposted local roads. With over 200 EV charging points nearby and good bus links to Newcastle, it remains accessible despite its rural feel. Chopwell famously dubbed itself "Little Moscow" in the 1920s, complete with Marx Terrace and Lenin Terrace.
