Chipstable is a small Somerset village where the Brendon and Blackdown Hills converge, reached via the A361 from Taunton then the B3227 through Huish Champflower. The surrounding lanes connect to Devon and provide access to both Exmoor's edges and the Quantocks. Its 13th-century Church of St. Anne houses a remarkable medieval rood screen with original painted saints.
