Chipshop lies in west Devon's Tamar Valley, about 15km northeast of Tavistock. Reach it via the A390 from Tavistock or A386 from Plymouth, then local roads through rolling countryside. The A30 provides longer-distance access via Tavistock. Around 30 public EV chargers serve the area. The village earned its charmingly mundane name from a fish and chip shop that once traded here.
