Chilcompton

England

England

Chilcompton is a Somerset village on the A37 between Bath and the Mendips, once known for coal mining. The A367 also passes nearby, connecting Bath to Radstock. Most visitors arrive from Bath, 15km north, or use it as a stopping point en route to Wells and Glastonbury. The village sits beneath Downside Abbey, whose impressive Gothic Revival spire has dominated the skyline since 1814.
