Cherhill

England

England

Cherhill is a Wiltshire village on the A4 between Calne and Marlborough, famous for its chalk white horse cut into the hillside in 1780. The village sits where the Marlborough Downs meet the vale, accessible from the M4 via Junction 15. Local routes connect to Calne (5km) and surrounding downland villages, whilst longer journeys reach Bath (25km west) or London via the M4. The dramatic white horse, carved by Dr Christopher Alsop, remains visible for miles across the countryside.
