Caunton is a small Nottinghamshire village reached via the A617 from Newark or A612 from Southwell. The A1 provides long-distance access, whilst local traffic uses B-roads connecting to nearby villages. Electric vehicle charging is available in Newark, about 10km away. The Norman church of St. Andrew houses remarkable 12th-century wall paintings that survived the Reformation, still showing traces of their original medieval colours.
