Castleisland sits on the N21 between Tralee and Limerick, making it a handy base for exploring Kerry. It's about 20 kilometres from Tralee and 30 kilometres from Kerry Airport, with good connections via the R551 to Abbeyfeale and local roads to surrounding villages. The town works well as a hub for day trips to Killarney (25km south) or the Dingle Peninsula, with the Slea Head Drive about 45 kilometres west. There are 18 public EV charging points around town for electric cars. The Friday market has been running on the same spot since 1226, one of Ireland's oldest chartered markets still going.
