Castlefields forms part of Runcorn in Cheshire, reached via the A533 from Junction 12 of the M56. The residential area sits on the gently rolling Cheshire Plain with good links to Chester, Manchester and Liverpool. The district's name derives from the medieval Halton Castle ruins that crown the nearby hill, still visible across the landscape on clear days.
