Castle Acre lies 5 miles north of Swaffham on the A1065, easily reached from the A47 via King's Lynn or Norwich. This Norfolk village centres on impressive Norman ruins - both castle and priory dating from the 1070s. The A1065 provides the main route through, connecting to Swaffham southward and Fakenham north. About 20 EV charging points serve the area. The castle's three-storey gatehouse still towers over the village green with its original Norman archway perfectly preserved.
