Carway lies along the A484 in Carmarthenshire's former coal mining heartland, serving the Gwendraeth Valley between Llanelli and Carmarthen. Reach it via M4 Junction 48, then A4138 and A484 through Cross Hands - about 45 minutes from Swansea. The village developed around mining operations and now sits amongst reclaimed pit sites in rolling countryside. Carway RFC has produced several Welsh international rugby players.
